Meet our Founder, Melanie

Melanie is a HR expert with more than 28 years of experience leading People & Culture functions across complex organisations in both Australia and the UK. Her career spans across aviation, health, disability, aged care, mental health, youth services, and retail. Melanie has held senior hr leadership roles, with Virgin Australia, Qantas, Ramsay Health Care, Avivo, and organisations in the UK such as J Sainsbury’s Supermarket.

Melanie is highly experienced in HR strategy, employee relations, employment legislation, organisational development, change management, cultural transformation, leadership coaching, enterprise bargaining, workforce planning, recruitment and large-scale restructure programs. Melanie has led HR teams of significant size, partnered with CEO's, executives, managers and boards to deliver major organisational change across national and multi-site environments.

As Founder of Unita Your Partner In HR, Melanie advises organisations across Australia on strategic HR, employment legislation, compliance, governance, restructuring, leadership coaching, and complex employee relations. She is recognised for her ability to build trusted partnerships, shape high-performing cultures, and deliver practical, people-centred solutions. Melanie is a Fellow of both AHRI (Australia) and CIPD (UK), with additional accreditation in LSI coaching and workplace investigations. 

Melanie is known for working calmly under pressure, being commercially minded, yet people focused and capable of leading HR in highly complex environments.
